We appreciate your adherence to the guidelines we have put forth in an effort to provide the safest environment for your loved ones.  We encourage you to visit and continue to visit our Facebook page to learn how you can keep in contact with your loved one during this challenging time.   Let us take this time as well to acknowledge the families of our residents and our associates.   These are challenging times for all.  We appreciate the sacrifices that all families have to endure.  We hope that at the very least for the families of our residents, you can have peace of mind that we remain committed to your loved one’s well-being.  Please continue to visit our website and Facebook pages for updates.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO TO OUR HARD WORKING, DEDICATED EMPLOYEES:

To the best team any one could ask for:

During these unusual times, it’s great to know that we have a team of the most caring people in the world, working for us.

As you all know, we care for the most vulnerable population that can be affected by this awful illness.

Without you we could not provide the warmth, loving and care that our residents need and deserve.

Our hats are off to you.  Thank you so much for your unselfish tireless efforts.

May this pandemic end quickly and everyone remain safe.

Glenn Kaplan, CEO

3/25/20 UPDATE:

As you are aware, there is heightened awareness and concern across the nation in regards to the Coronavirus, COVID-19. We want to provide an update as to the most recent measures we have put in place to try to protect the health of our residents and employees. We continue to follow the guidance from the CDC and the local and national authorities.

For the continued protection of our current residents and employees we are not accepting new admissions into our communities until further notice.

1. Visitors are no longer allowed in the community except in the case of end-of-life care.

2. All employees are being screened before they begin their shift.

3. We are checking the temperature of ALL employees daily, and residents as needed and keeping a log.

4.  We have curtailed all large group activities, outings, transportation, and entertainment coming into the community.

5. We continue with diligent infection control measures including enhanced cleaning and disinfecting.

6. For dining, there will be no communal dining: resident’s will be served in their apartments on disposable paper products

We appreciate your anticipated cooperation in keeping our community healthy for your loved one. Please reach out if you have any questions.

We want to share with you the steps Bentley at Branchville is taking with regard to the protection of our residents, team members and families during the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Prevention is our first line of defense at Bentley at Branchville.

We have protocols that our team members follow with regard to infection control.  Many of you have seen some of these protocols implemented during flu seasons. They include taking immediate measures to limit contact and communal activities and to enhance normal sanitizing methods.

While we have no indication of coronavirus in any of our communities, we are postponing outside events and appointments and requesting visitors to reschedule their visits. We will have all the external doors locked except for the front door. All employees, vendors, and visitors will be screened at the front door.

We are actively participating in updates with the local and state Departments of Health, as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on the spread of the virus.

We will continue to reinforce the same actions/habits used during the flu season to residents, families, visitors and team members for infection control.

Here are a few of the measures that we should all keep in mind during this challenge:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick and seek medical care.
  • Cover your cough, sneeze into your elbow or use a tissue.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • Use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, if soap and water are not readily available.
  • Regularly use the hand sanitizer stations that are at the entrance and throughout the community.
  • Pay attention to postings at the community entrance notifying residents, staff and visitors that if you are experiencing signs and symptoms of respiratory infection, such as a fever, or cough, sore throat or have traveled internationally in the last 14 days, please reschedule your visit for a later time.
  • Reschedule resident outings and medical appointments for a later date.
  • Postpone any public events taking place in communities.

It is important to note that the CDC is updating the public on the situation regularly. Their information is the best resource for answers to any questions about COVID-19. For more information, you can visit the CDC information page.

We will continue to update as necessary with emerging issues and new information as available. Thank you for your understanding and support.
